Lisbon, is a city deeply rooted in the Age of Exploration, earning its place as the first true global city. During the 15th and 16th centuries, Portuguese explorers set sail from Lisbon’s harbours, pioneering new trade routes and establishing connections across Africa, Asia, and the Americas. Visionary navigators like Vasco da Gama, who discovered the sea route to India, and Ferdinand Magellan, whose expedition completed the first circumnavigation of the globe, cemented Lisbon’s status as a centre of maritime power. The wealth and cultural influences brought back from these voyages transformed the city into a melting pot of global commerce, ideas, and diversity.

Thursday 3rd April all day – Friday 4th April half day.
