The SIOR Foundation and local SIOR Chapters have a program that will enable undergraduate and graduate students to attend industry wide conferences as well as regional and chapter events. The goal is to promote the commercial real estate industry as a viable and exciting career option to potential professionals.
To be eligible, you must be a full-time student enrolled in a real estate, business, economics or finance program as a junior or senior at the undergraduate level, or enrolled in a graduate program. Students must be 21 years of age prior to attendance if attending a SIOR World Conference in the USA (and 18 years if attending a conference in Europe). Applicants must hold a valid VISA for visiting the country in which the conference is to be held.
The SIOR European Regional Chapter and the SIOR Foundation will cover the costs of flights, accommodation and registration for the SIOR Global Conference, held in the Spring and Autumn of each year, as well as the European Chapter’s own conferences and chapter meetings.
The student will join SIOR members from around the globe, including from the European Chapter for the duration of the conference (two to four days). Attending key note speeches, seminars, networking events and exhibitions with circa 1,000 property experts (for the USA conference), this is an amazing opportunity for a student to broaden their personal and professional horizons.
Students are required to make a one-minute original video outlining why they should be chosen for this trip. The style, format and content of the video is up to the student and he/she should use his/her own ingenuity, professionalism, wit and presentation skills.
