SIOR Europe offering a unique experience to attend global real estate conference in Washington
Three real estate students from Europe have been selected to attend the SIOR Spring World Conference in Washington DC on 10-13 April 2019. The students’ participation has been co-funded by the SIOR Foundation Student Real Estate Experience Program and the European Regional Chapter in a joint initiative to attract the next generation of commercial real estate professionals.
The opportunity was available to all current undergraduate or postgraduate students studying a real estate, finance or economics related discipline at a European higher education institution and attracted applicants from Belgium, France, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Switzerland and the UK.
The students selected to attend the conference this week include: Nabeel Ahmed, currently studying for a MSc in Real Estate at the University of Reading; Anders Horwood, currently a graduate surveyor at Carter Jonas in London and Remi Robin, currently studying for a BSc in International Hospitality Management at the Ecole Hotelière de Lausanne.
Paul McDowell, president of the SIOR Europe Regional Chapter, said: “Whereas in past years just one student has been selected to represent SIOR Europe at US-based events, the quality and volume of applicants this year demanded that we extend it to accommodate three outstanding individuals.
This is a genuinely unique opportunity for these students to join some of the world’s leading practitioners at a premier global event and also demonstrates SIOR’s commitment to growing its member base and supporting the next generation of real estate industry leaders.”
The SIOR Europe Regional Chapter will be repeating the same programme in 2020 offering students from throughout Europe the opportunity to attend both the SIOR International European Conference in Dublin and the SIOR World Fall Conference in Boston, USA.
